With the White Album, the band's fourth self-titled release, it's safe to say that my fears have been put to rest.
Weezer is officially backand this time they're bringing summer with them. Right off the Album) we're treated to "California Kids", complete with big guitars, driving drums and those Weezer melodies we've come to know and love so well.
The Beach Boys are a major influence on this LP and you'll hear it in several tracks, most notably "Wind in Our Sail" and " Girl We Got A LP Thing", which floats so effortlessly into your ears that you can't help but smile and sing along. Other tunes like "King of the World" and "Summertime Elaine and Drunk Dori" are slices of vintage Weezer, taking you on a catchy ride in about three minutes.
Despite its stupid title, "L. Girlz" manages to deliver the bright pop power we've come to know and love from the band. There's also some subtle experimentation thrown in, albeit in very conservative measures. It feels like a Pinkerton b-side and that alone puts it near the top of my list.
The pensive, building closer "Endless Bummer" is beautiful, with only "Thank God for Girls" being the album's weak spot. It's not terrible but lyrically it feels way too silly and forced to be much more than a curiosity. Cuomo's lyrics aren't as strong here as they were on the previous album, though they're still far better what what we got on albums like Raditude and Hurley.
As the weather warms up and the flowers bloom, it's wonderful to have a new Weezer album as the soundtrack. It's a perfect companion to their previous colored records and a bright sign that Weezer truly has returned to form. Those of us in the mid-west probably won't see a beach this summer Quickly gonna give my thoughts on the album itself and the record. The album itself I really enjoy. More then most I imagine. I feel like it's one of Weezers strongest albums.
It for the most part has this more relaxed beach vibe going on, and I love that personally. It was a nice small shake up, but still had that Weezer sound we all love. That's most of the album. The songs not listed aren't bad Not that I hate them. The record isn't something I can complain about. It sounds nice, was in good shape, and played well. My experience with records isnt extensive check other reviews for more in depth but I had no issues with it.
Overall this album is worth giving a shot. I enjoy it alot. You might enjoy it as well. This review is concerning the vinyl version of this recording from one of the greatest musical groups in the world known as WEEZER.
It is not gram vinyl to begin with. The slab is flat and does not feel horribly skinny although. It tracks nice and quiet and looks shiny and hansome with a very simple weezer logo on the center label. The recording itself sounds a little hot but not bad. I will say for under 20 dillys its a good solid addition to your record collection. Vinyl, October 28, "Please retry". Audio, Cassette, January 1, "Please retry".

Verified Purchase. Groovy Man just Groovy. This is a review of the press. The first LP I got was presed off center and on side A it caused a noise on every rotation.
I got another replacemt and its like the 2nd one with all the noise but not as bad but still really annoying. I My Name Is Jonas - Weezer - Weezer (Vinyl be looking for an older press of this album now.
Where is the quality control at with all of these new albums being pressed? I never had problems like this before. Some of us do listen to the albums and just don't "collect" them.
I had two copies of this pressing they both suck. I wet washed them both before first play. Records were absolutely perfect looking. What do they sound like? Over driven, over peaked distorted hot mess. As if my needle was worn out. Trust me its not; I put another record on to verify my turntable is A ok. This record is just complete garbage; makes me sad as I really like this record; I have it on original issue CD and bought it the week it came out.
My CD will smoke this pressing every which way to Sunday. Both copies are going back. Don't buy these; this is not the vinyl experience you want. I should have listened to the others. I have been record collecting over 30 years. Get this MoFi all-analog version if you have an all-analog turntable setup, or else the CD is fine.
I was in high school when this album came out and was never a massive Weezer fan, never hated or loved them, but I always thought they had good electric guitar sounds, and therefore this would probably be an album worth hearing all-analog. I was right. You can crank this record up and it will never sound harsh, just thick and meaty. There are a number of good songs on this record, and there absolutely is a fun vibe to it while also dark at times.
This pressing was done a little bit on the quiet side, and therefore some surface noise and crackle is evident yes, I played it multiple times to "polish" the groove like MoFi suggestsand the mastering is darker than the original mastering, but in some ways it's better, as this version sounds very smooth and listenable and not fatiguing on the ears.
I take off 1 star for the noisiness of the vinyl and the fact that they weren't true to the original mastering work, Album). I never bothered listening to the cheaper and more available DMM vinyl, as this MoFi version is actually all-analog, and when it comes to spending money on vinyl, it better be all analog or else there isn't a ton of reason to buy it over the CD. This review is for the vinyl version, not the album itself, which is great.
The pressing quality overall is pretty good -- clean, good dynamics, good mastering I ordered a replacement because I hoped the first one I received was just a fluke. Nope, the second one was just as bad.
It's bad enough that you can hear it affecting tracking force back and forth, sounds like a whoosh in alternating channels as the LP rotates. If I'd paid any more than ten bucks for it, I wouldn't keep it. I remember the video for "Buddy Holly" being on the Windows 95 install disks. It was not my favorite song but it grew on me. Most of the other songs on the "Blue Album" were great 25 years ago and they still hold up now, even after being overplayed on the radio during the great Grunge movement.
Compare that to some of the whiny Pearl Jam garbage from "Vs. The LP release was surprisingly good, one of the very few 90s albums I have ever purchased in LP format. In Perfect Condision. QC must have stepped up since its initial release! Lots of people are complaining about the record being warped and songs not playing well do to this issue. Not for me. The album played fine. But why the 4 Star rating?
Whenever I listen to a record on Vinyl I love the sound it produces, i dont own any MoFi records untill this one and i was just disappointed I owned this album on CD along with buying the much clearer and better sounding Deluxe version on CD.

Weezer's debut LP from '94 was a surprising vital-sounding group of pop songs led by a buzzing guitar and Rivers Cuomo's occasionally silly (yet hard not to sing along to) lyrics. "Undone-The Sweater Song" and "Buddy Holly" were alt-radio hits and managed to bridge the gap between the Pixies and the aftermath of Nirvana. You did it! Thank you. Weezer is back on my repeat-repeat-repeat-repeat playlist. Great summer album, great driving album, great singing-along album. A set of fantastic, tuneful, melodic songs /5(1). Weezer doesn't look like rock stars, its amusing name doesn't evoke stadium-heights glories, and the group's lyrics don't exude confidence or flash. For precisely these reasons, and the fact that the band's songs on its self-titled debut are the stuff of air-guitar dreams and shout-it-out choruses, the quartet became ironic arena-rock stars.
